All Wedding... All The Time

If you look at the count down it now says 6 months :-) It is all I think about! I am so excited, about everything I can hardly stand it! This weekend was very wedding orientated; we got SO much done. Asante worked Saturday so my day started at David's Bridal where I bought my dress. I had a whole entourage to help me out: My mom, both grandmas, two bridesmaids and a flowergirl. The dress my bridesmaids will be wearing is final and we picked out a flowergirl dress. I didnt take pictures of my dress or the flowergirl dress becuase they match so both will be a surprise! It was a complete success... even my mom found a dress!!

After David's Bridal we all went to eat lunch at Houlihans - it was great, best asparagus I've ever had :-) Following lunch my mom and I went to have our taxes done and then I hurried out to my moms to do my sister's hair and makeup for her sweatheart dance. I only have two pictures on my phone but will have more of her soon!

Saturday evening was my cousin, Michael's 15th Birthday party. Asante got off at 6:30 so we met there for dinner. We were able to hand out save the dates to all of my family. All the others will be in the mail this week :-)

Sunday was just as good, just as busy!

I made breakfast Sunday morning before we headed out to the bridal show at the Overland Park Convention Center. If you go back to a blog, maybe even my first one, from around this time last year, I talk about going to this same show. Last year I won $500 and booked our photographer, Angela, with it. Well this year.... WE WON AGAIN!! Both Asasnte and I were so excited and soooo shocked!! It is pretty obvious that we are ment to be married :-) Not that there was any question before! This year we used the money for a deposit on a DJ and a Trolley. I am not sure what I was more excited about, the money or the fact that we are going to have a trolley!!! The only downfall is that I didn't get any pictures! I am hoping there will be some on the Kansas City Perfet Wedding Guide website that I can use.

After the show we went to rent a storage space because we are moving in with Grams in about two weeks. Our plan is to start moving stuff we wont be needing to storage this week. From the storage unit we went to Asasnte's work because they had their 4G launch and we had to know how that went ;-) Luck us that we did becuase Men's Warehouse happens to be right next door. We decided to go in and just have a look... we ended up picking out all of the mens outfits for the wedding!

Monday was Valentine's Day. I took the day off so it was like we got to have a real weekend...two days off in a row together!! I couldnt ask for a better gift! We didnt do much besides spend time together. We drove around to price fish tanks. We have a 55 gallons tank now but our fish are out-growing it so we are thinking about getting a 75 gallon tank to move into grams'. We didnt end up buying a tank but maybe in the near future. Other than that we just hung out at home. I made tacos for an early dinner because Asante had class. While he was at class I started boxing up stuff we dont use on a daily basis... I only got 3 boxes done before I ran out of tape :-( We have a lot more to go.

Hopefully next weekend will be just as productive!!

7 Months

I'm not very good at coming up with creative titles. This one is pretty straight forward... Today is 7 months unit the WEDDING!!! We cannot wait :-) Angela brought the save the dates to Amar at work yesterday and I have them all ready to send out in the next few days! They look amazing, get excited.

Besides save the dates what other way to celebrate 7 more months.... A NEW RING!! I'm so lucky!!!

Big Update

It was been a while since our last blog, needless to say a lot has happened!

Friday January 21st Asanste and I went to Lawrence to celebrate one of my bestfriend, Kaleigh's birthday. I have been friends with these girls since elementary/middle school and I am so blessed to still be so close to them!

Asasnte and I celebrated our two year anniversity on January 22nd. We went to dinner and a movie. It was really nice to spend some quality time together :-)

We got yet another week of snow fall on February 1st. I believe it was being called Snowmagenddon 2011. I don't think it quite lived up to that, but it did give Asasnte and I a little bit of trouble. We were both sent home from work early Tuesday, fabulous! I called into work Wednesday. This turned out to be more necessary than I originally thought becuase when I tried to start my car Wednesday afternoon I got nothing. I have been having problems with my car so this was not a big surprise. We had to decide if we were going to try to get it fixed or just buy a new car. There is a lot of things that need to be fixed on my car and I don't really think it is worth fixing all of them. So for now we are just going to keep it running unitl we are ready to buy my "Mommy" car in a few years!

This Saturday was my God-Daughter, Hallie's 5th Birthday. Her party was Saturday evening. She is so stinking cute :-)

Sunday was, of course, the Super Bowl! We had a party at our house; it turned out great. I made a bunch of food and it was a huge success. Since none of our teams were playing we didnt really care who won so we were glad it was just a good game!

Now that the super bowl is over we are starting to pack for our move. We will be renting a storage space soon and move the stuff we don't use there over the next few weeks, as well as moving stuff into Grams'. We made our last rent payment last week; it will be amazing not having to do that anymore :-) Things are starting to get really excited around our house and we couldn't be happier!!!

We got another round of snow this week... which means SNOW DAYS!!! My classes were cancelled both Wednesday and Thursday and Amar's work training was cancelled Thursday. What better way to take advantage of the time off than sledding!! We went sledding with my work BFF Katherine and her husband Jay, it was a blast. We were all so sore the next day, I have no idea when I got too old for sledding. I guess it is one of those things you do even if its going to hurt the next day!

It seems like a lot has happened in the last week and even more through rest of January! Andrea's 18th Birthday was Wednesday... we went to dinner Wednesday evening to celebrate :-) Applebee's of course... the only place my sister picks to eat! Asante worked all weekend so Saturday I spent the day with Grams, shopping, our favorite thing to do. Sunday was Andrea's birthday party with the family. I went to my moms early afternoon Sunday to make a cake and start cooking dinner. Asante had his second basketball game Sunday night; they won!

This week I start school! I am looking forward to starting a new semester but it always makes me nervous... you know that I can't find my classroom, that I will forget my homework, the usually. None of which have ever happened to me :-) Asante starts at the University of Phonex at the end of this month... we are both so excited for him to go back to school and I am a little bit jealous that he only has to go one night a week!

This Sunday we have a "meeting" with Grams to discuss moving in with her! Our lease is up February 28th and we will be moving into her basement, where I lived when Asante and I first met. We are making a full circle, two years later. We will finally be able to set our plan for the next two years in motion... I cannot wait!!!

It's finally WINTER in Kansas

I guess I got my wish :-) It started snowing Sunday evening and didn't stop until this morning. Overall I think we got about 6 to 7 inches. Every once in a while Kansas actually gets a "nice" snow. Now it is really hard for me to say this because I don't care much for any kind if snow! However, this snow is beautiful! Waking up Monday to a white blanket of sparkly white snow is really breath taking. The other great part is NO ice (so far) I would have pictures but unfortunately I believe I lost my camera! Maybe I can get a picture with my phone and upload it...I don't think the snow will be melting any time soon since the temperatures are staying pretty close to 15 degrees.

In other news, Amar and I bought plane tickets to Indiana. We are leaving June 2nd and will be back June 6th. It is not for a while but we are so excited; we wanted to get a jump start! Plus prices are so much better the farther out you buy them.

We have 8 months until our wedding!! Crazy right, It seems like I was just saying one year until the wedding. And I was right, time is FLYING! I went to the second bridal show this weekend, no winnings :-( We are finishing up booking the main things, DJ and Officiant are next. Hopefully we can find someone in the next few weeks. Also I want to book a trolley :-) Stay tooned for more wedding excitement!
