32 Weeks

This has been a big week! I am still feeling great, but starting to be a little uncomfortable, or at least I'm making Little Asante uncomfortable.  He sure lets me know if I'm smashing him and he wants me to move!  I'm starting to recognize body parts also, like when he stretches out his little legs :-) The week started with our first Lamaze class on Thursday.  It was pretty good, and I think we are going to learn a lot of interesting stuff. The class is Thursday nights 6:30 to 9 for 5 weeks.  Friday we had another doctor's appointment, and everything is still looking great.  Our doctor told us he is already in the head down position, such a good boy! I was also checked for dilation and effacement to make sure I was ok to fly.  Thankfully I was, and had my doctor's note in hand at the airport.  We headed to Kansas Sunday morning for our first baby shower.  It was a wonderful shower, hosted by my aunts. There were so many people there, and it was really great to see everyone! We got some awesome stuff!  Monday we took maternity photos with Angela, and she had them online for us to view within a few days.  They turned out great; Angela does such an amazing job!

Well needless to say I haven't posted in a while! Ha that's funny... by in a while I mean almost 6 months.  I am going to keep this brief, and just start over with current updates.

Here is a list of things that have happened in the last 6 months.
  1. We found out we were pregnant in December (probably the biggest news)
  2. We closed on our house also in December
  3. I stayed in Kansas while Amar was in Indiana... it was one of the hardest things I've had to do.  I know being pregnant did not help matters either
  4. We had many doctors appointments... including baby's heart beat, sonogram, found out we were having a BOY! Asante Miles Scott
  5. Lots of travel between Kansas and Indiana for both of us!
  6. Baby Asante and I finally joined Amar in Indiana at the end of March
  7. Amar sold his first home.... SOOO exciting!!
  8. I started a new job in Indianaplois at the end of May
And that is where we are :-) Hopefully I will keep up with the blog... things are going to get pretty crazy around our house soon.  Only 84 days until Asante's debut!

Thankful

Thankful does not even begin to describe how we feel this time of year! We have been so blessed and cannot express how grateful we are. Just to name a few … We are grateful for each other, there is nothing better than being married to your best friend. For our wonderful families, and the support they have given us throughout our lives. We are thankful for our friends, who are the family we have chosen for ourselves. For our health and happiness. And above all we are thankful for the way the Lord works every day in our lives, we would be nothing with out Him. God is Good, every day!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Building a Home

I just got back from my trip to Indianapolis. I had a wonderful trip, and it was so great to spend time with Amar! My mom was able to come with me and it was nice for her to see where our future home will be. We arrived Saturday afternoon. The first thing we did was go see our new house. Sunday we took Amar to work and he showed us a few of Fischer's model homes. My mom and I spent the rest of the day shopping, before picked Amar up from work. We went to dinner Sunday with our friends Nick and Jessie, who are also building a home in Indianapolis… right next door. We spent our Halloween looking at furniture to get ideas for our house, and then handed out candy to the trick-or-treaters. What better way to spend Halloween night than wine and scary movies. Amar, Nick, Jessie and I watched Paranormal Activity 2 and then went to see 3 in theaters. They were so scary!! We had such a great time together and hopefully it won't be too long until our next visit.

Staying Busy

It has been almost 2 weeks since Amar left and I'll start with how everything in Indianapolis is going! His first day of work was Wednesday the 12th, and so far LOVES it! He is training with a woman named Megan, who is one of Fischer's top sellers, which is going to be fabulous! He works 11am to 6pm, Wednesday through Sunday… SOOOO much better than his hours at AT&T :-) Hopefully he will fly through training and be able to start selling on his own soon!

Amar's cousin has been so kind to open their home to him for the time being! They have an extra room and it has been great for him to be with family! I know their two kids love having Uncle Amar around also :-)

We are working on getting approved for a loan so Amar can move into our house with me joining him in a few months!

As for me, I am trying to stay as busy as possible!! I am also loving this fall weather, and making the most of it before winter hits! Last week I was off Friday so my best friend, Jenna, her daughter, Hallie (my God-daughter), and I went to the Kansas City Zoo! We had a blast. The weather was perfect and we spent almost the whole day there! This Friday I took Liam, to Writer's Walk at Shawnee Mission West. Liam's mom (my aunt), Annie is an English teacher and puts on an event for creative writing every year… I'm pretty sure if I had her as a teacher I would not have hated English so much :-)

Good news is a week from today I will be on a plane to Indiana!! We are both sooo excited!

One Month

Today we have been married for One Month!! It is very exciting and we celebrated last night by going to our favorite restaurant, McCormick and Schmick's!! Friday night we went to the haunted houses with my cousins, Michael and Leah! It was a blast :-) I love Fall!

Amar moved to Indianapolis today. I will be joining him after the school year. It is going to be very different and I'm sure pretty hard, but it is what is best for our future! I have booked a trip to see him at the end of October. Hopefully we will be able to have a few trips every month to see each other.

I will keep you posted on how it goes!

Honeymoon!
